Preclinical sessions – restorative dentistry, rubber dam application, and endodontic access: Supervised sessions

Supervised technical sessions are conducted in the AIDER clinic using chair-mounted manikins.  These sessions are aimed at guiding students on a variety of tasks frequently encountered in accreditation practical examinations.

A range of relevant pre-clinical tasks can be undertaken during these sessions; with students having the freedom to choose which tasks they wish to attempt/complete. Rubber dam application and endodontic access preparations can also be performed and assessed in these preclinical sessions.

An AIDER staff member will be available to supervise the tasks and provide feedback on progress. These sessions are conducted over 3-hour blocks. A structured schedule of tasks can be provided for those students attending multiple sessions.
